Job Description

Daystar Power Group is looking to engage a competent and experienced Head of Supply Chain, who will lead efforts of all supply chain functions including materials planning, procurement, inbound and out-bound logistics management, inventory and warehouse management, whilst ensuring internal and external customer’s requirements and expectations are met from end to end in each of the supply chain process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations across functions to ensure a dependable and efficient supply chain.
  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders to mitigate long term supplier constraints.
  • Approach daily problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets.
  • Address supply chain failures promptly to ensure operations stability; escalate as appropriate.
  • Prepare and manage an annual operating plan including expense resources, and capital.
  • Manage end-to-end purchasing strategies amp; processes that capitalize on savings and risk mitigation opportunities for the business.
  • Builds strong supplier relationships and encourages a high level of supplier collaboration and delivery.
  • Carrier Management - Evaluates carrier performance through consistent monitoring of on time pick up, transit time and on time delivery measures to ensure fulfilment by published schedule and rated cost.
  • Warehouse Operations - Utilizes warehousing tools, systems, and methodologies to meet defined metrics for inbound and outbound operations of a warehouse.
  • Apply knowledge of relevant trade regulations to DPS processes and systems to minimize trade risks and costs.
  • Manage complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Optimize work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Transport Mode Selection - Evaluates and selects appropriate transportation mode and equipment type through shipment volume analysis against business requirements to provide optimal shipping method (balance cost, quality and time).
  • Standardizing disaggregation and forecasting processes and procedures by establishing collaborative business partner relationships.
  • Manage and coordinate movement and travel of employees within Nigeria.

Requirements

1. Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or its equivalent with additional professional qualifications in Supply Chain Management.

2. Experience: 10 years Supply Chain experience with at least 3 years active Supply Chain operations leadership role.

3. Language Proficiency: English (with good communication skills and accurate reporting skills).

4. Character:

a. Proactive self-starter and pays attention to details.

b. Self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.

c. Passionate leader with excellent team leadership skills.

d. Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands, passion for renewable energy.

5. Competency and Skills Requirement:

Accountability - Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.

Supplier Contract Development amp; Supplier Relationship Management amp; Risk Management Intellectual Property Management and Purchasing Ethics.

6. Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint in particular) and ERP platforms.

7. Others:

a. Client focus: the ability to identify, meet and sometimes exceed the needs and expectations of (external or internal) clients, resulting in (long-term) client satisfaction
