Job Description

Our client, a leader in the Information Technology and ServicesIndustry is seeking to fill the position of Group Head Strategy amp; Innovation.

The Group Head Strategy amp; Innovation will contribute to the achievement of the company’s short to long term ambitions and objectives by helping Senior Management and the Board generate and leverage timely business and market intelligence.

The focus of the role is to ensure the successful execution of the defined strategic priorities and the creation and successful deployment of effective customer, market and operational data / intelligence for decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with and support the MD/CEO and business unit / functional leaders to plan and execute the corporate and business unit level strategies.
  • Work with management to establish effective performance measures, leads efforts to track / monitor successful execution in line with the company’s vision, mission, and core values.
  • Provides support to management to ensure the corporate and business strategies are effectively communicated and translated into team plans.
  • Coordinate the collection and analysis of data on trends and developments in the economy and business environment to enable the management of company make informed business decisions on future strategy, investments, new projects and products, operational and growth plans.
  • Coordinate research to generate insights from competitor analysis, emerging industry trends, and advise Management on the possible implications for the company’s business.
  • Work closely with Enterprise Solutions business units to integrate insights on customer preferences/demands, product improvement recommendations into product and service offerings, redesign, and enhancements of existing products.
  • Work with the CEO to identify and explore new partnering opportunities and relationships to ensure the achievement of business sustainability and achievement of bottom-line corporate objectives.
  • Engage with the relevant departments to leverage financial, risk and technology intelligence to advise and report to the Board / Management on the company’s performance across key drivers and measures on periodic basis.

Education/Professional Qualification/ Experience Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in numerate or semi-numerate disciplines such as Finance, Accounting, Information Management, or a Business /Management related discipline.
  • An MBA or a Masters in Management or a Strategy-related course.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as: Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years working experience in Strategy, Business Intelligence, Group Coordination, or related functions, three (3) years of which should have been at Senior Management level. A strong demonstrable exposure to corporate and/or business strategy development is critical as is monitoring of execution and reporting.
