Job Description

Our client in the Utilities sector is looking to fill the position of Chief Information Officer.

The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for the execution of the organisation's digital strategy, with a focus on delivering new digital products and services profitably, building a strong digital team, and accelerating customer growth through improved customer experience and effective products.

This role will be further responsible for overhauling the organisation’s digital channels, and implement risk management frameworks complementary to, and supportive of the digital transformation mandate. Also achieving continuous improvement of the systems that create and deliver the solutions offered, ensuring effective deployment of resources to achieve defined/agreed corporate goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical aspects of the organisation’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals.
  • Discover and implement new technologies that yield a competitive advantage.
  • Help departments use technology profitably.
  • Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency.
  • Build quality assurance and data protection processes.
  • Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance.
  • Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology.
  • Communicate technology strategy to management.
  • Relational alignment of costs to value expected by the organisation.
  • Market share growth rate
  • Advertising spends vs. Turnover.
  • 100% retention of existing clients, accountable by impact, and satisfaction of clients across the range of technology deployments.
  • Achieve at least 95% client satisfaction.
  • Maximum of 24hr turnaround time in response to client’s request.
  • Introduce and implement new innovative strategies policy, process and system that guarantee market leadership and competitive edge per sector
  • Share knowledge: document and share learnings, disseminating useful information amp; tools, for internal learning and external sector-wide knowledge sharing purposes.
  • Be a thought leader on new digital trends and opportunities that the organisation can incorporate into its digital strategy to drive strategic growth ambitions.

Academic Qualifications

  • Minimum of first degree in Computer Science, IT or any other related discipline
  • MBA or a Masters in IT, Project Management or any related field
  • Incumbent should be registered with the Computer Professionals (Registration Council) of Nigeria (CPN).
  • The professional must first be a member of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS).
  • Must have NCS and CPN registration

Experience

  • Minimum experience of 12 years working experience of which 8 years should have been a Technology Managerial ole.
  • Relevant professional certifications e.g. Project Management Professional Certification
